How to play

1. 1You name your player and choose the country he starts in. Then you pick a position and build him in three steps: how you play, where you learnt the game and what defines you. Every answer gives something and takes something else. Last, you choose your first club.
2. 2Every season has a summer, a match and what comes after: training, injuries, the press, the dressing room and offers from other clubs. If an answer takes you out of the club, you pick the one you leave for.
3. 3Every season you play one match by hand: you are told who you are up against and you choose what to do with the ball. In Inazuma mode you also choose which special move you do it with, if you are carrying one worth using.
4. 4When the season closes you see your form for the year and what set it: the match result, every risky choice that came off or went wrong, injuries and a bit of luck. In good form you play more, score more and finish higher, and a bad year can cost you attributes.
5. 5In Inazuma mode you pick up special moves as you go. You can keep four, each of them worth two attributes for as long as you hold it, so a fifth costs you one of the others.
6. 6Some decisions can end two ways and show you both with the odds, and those odds come from your own attributes: an outrageous dribble comes off far more often if you built him quick. The rest warn you about nothing.
7. 7In manager mode you do not play, you pick the team. A season is decided by where the side finishes and what it wins, and you are judged by the fans, the board and the dressing room. Two years running with the board against you and you are out.
8. 8When you retire you get the verdict, the whole career season by season and a link for somebody else to read it.

FAQ

Is it always the same career?

No. Every time you start, a new career is dealt, with different clubs, different events and a different ending, as often as you like.

Can I lose?

There is no defeat, there is a verdict. You can finish on the bench in the second division or as a legend, and the difference is what you chose along the way.

What does someone opening my link see?

Your whole career, decision by decision, exactly as you played it. The link carries no stored result, it is recomputed when it opens.

Is the Inazuma mode the original game?

No. It is a fan tribute. The characters, teams, special moves and artwork are from the series and belong to Level-5; this is not an official product and has no connection to them.
